Abstract
The first installment of Building Journal's coverage of HK-BEAM (Hong Kong Building Environmental Assessment Method) and the HK-BEAM Society profiled the development of the scheme that rates new and existing buidlings for their environmental performance. Achievement of the top-level rating under HK-BEAM is made possible with the wide range of innovative and environment friendly building practices being implemented today by Hong Kong's developers and building professionals. The following case studies demonstrate some of the initiatives put in place at six of the SAR's developments assessed under HK-BEAM.
(1) Parcville, Yuen Long
(2) The Orchards, Taikoo Valley
(3) Cambridge House, Quarry Bay
(4) One Peking, Tsim Sha Tsui
