Abstract
The Hong Kong Government granted the development rights to the Container Terminal 8 project to a joint ventureconsortium of Modern Terminals Group (MTL) and the China Ocean Shipping Co / Hongkong International Terminals Group (COSCO-HIT) by Private Treaty Grant, with the signing ceremony on March 28, 1991. Total investment is estimated at $7 billion.
As with the other port (and airport) infrastructure developments, Container Terminal 8 will further increase and strengthen Hong Kong's role as a world trade entrepot for China.
香港政府以私人協約形式，批出八號貨櫃碼頭工程予現代貨櫃及中遠——國際貨櫃組成的合營公司，合約已於九一年三月二十八日簽署。總投資達七十億元。
