Abstract
Part of the development that will cement Hong Kong's position as entrepot for south China, the $2.7-billion construction cost container Terminal 8 project will be phased in over two years, with the first of four berths completed in mid-1993, under two years after project start-up, and the others handed over at six-month intervals.
八號貨櫃碼頭已於九一年十月開始動工，預料第一個泊位將於九三年中竣工，其餘的泊位每個約需時六個月完成。相信八號貨櫃碼頭啟用後，香港為南中國轉口港的地位將會得到遇進一步的鞏固。
