Abstract
With a famous skyline of skyscrapers, Hong Kong is not known as a haven for heritage hunters. Being in the wrong place could mean death to an old building. Land scarcity may lead to demolition for redevelopment. Remoteness could lead to desertion and decay. Angela Tam finds out what has been done to save some of Hong Kong's historical buildings, and why losing one's history cannot always be compensated by financial gain.
