Abstract
The Hong Kong Architectural Coating Association was set up in September 2002 by six coating companies. At the time, the founding companies saw there was no formal association representing the Hong Kong coatings and paint industry that could provide a platform to exchange experiences of the technologies and improve standards. Furthermore, the group noted that the status and professional image of the local coating and paint industry is comparably low compared with overseas counterparts.
