Abstract
Although China's challenge to Hong Kong political moves threatens a number of Port and Airport Development Strategy (PADS) projects, Hong Kong's construction industry still recorded a small amount of growth in second quarter 1992, with developments inside China moving ahead on a wide front. Indeed, the eight Hong Kong projects covered in our annual survey are either infrastructural or, in private sector terms, central to an important operation. Our two China projects, the Guangzhou subway system and the Yangpu, Hainan, industrial/port development, similarly represent public and private pursuits.
