Abstract
Daylight entering the long stretch of windows casts its filtered rays on a sweep of desks and computers. A muted patter of feet on the rubber floor drums interludes into the quiet hum of industry that pervades the long room. Stepping into LPT Architects' new office at 1063 King's Road, the visitor is, not infrequently, bowled over by the firm's concept of an open office. There is no corner office; not even a partition in sight. The directors share the same space with the other staff, and everyone has full view of the big rectangle that makes up the main office. Is this true democracy, or a contemporary rendition of Big Brother?
