Abstract
The banal hotel coffee shop is fast becoming a thing of the past thanks to the opening of Café TOO on level seven of the Island Shangri-La Hong Kong. Designed by Japanese food and beverage sensations Super Potato, the vast interior of the former Island Café has been resurrected as a series of seven different cooking theatres. Gone are the mountains of uninspiring buffet counters. Instead, each species of cuisine - Asian Curries, Noodles/Pasta, Delicatessen, Roasts/Barbecues, Seafood, etc - stars live chefs who perform their rituals in full view of surrounding guests.
