Abstract
The problem in creating a Ming Dynasty park in residential-cum-industrial Hunghom, says Urbis Travers Morgan Ltd landscape architect Kenneth Ng, is that the setting is not particularly conducive to simulating the effect of the wind murmuring in the trees and of water rushing, even when the park is, at 2.5 ha in area, the largest dynastic Chinese-design park in Hong Kong. However, he adds, "It's better to reproduce a Ming Dynasty garden than create some nondescript building that will invoke ridicule and give no satisfaction to its creator."
