Abstract
Copyright protection extends to architectural works and to plans, drawings, diagrams and models used in the design and creation of an architectural work. The United Kingdom Copyright Act is in force in Hong Kong by virtue of the Copyright Hong Kong Order 1972. It should be noted that some works created prior to 1972 will be protected by earlier copyright legislation.
Frances Drummond is a UK solicitor working with Baker & McKenzie, Solicitors. In this article, she outlines the law of copyright as it applies to architectural designs and works in Hong Kong.
