Abstract
The Kadoorie Biological Sciences Building is literally a working building. Raved for its inherent environmental sustainability, flexibility and functionality, this laboratory 'machine', designed by Leigh & Orange (L&O), is morphologically alive. Besides boasting the first bio-processing lab in Asia, it's been estimated that the building will produce energy savings of 53,360 KWH per annum; this translates into 2.67 million KWH over 50 years or a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of 1.88 million tonnes.
