United Christian Hospital: a new beginning

Abstract
According to Willie Chan, co-ordinating architect for the HK$800 million United Christian Hospital in Kwun Tong, the project is "arguably the first hospital completed on time, within budget restraints and without contractual claims". Particularly impressive given that Leigh and Orange took over the job after the contract with the original firm was terminated. But the company is no stranger to hospital design and has made major contributions to the Territory's medical facilities - its most recent achievement the Union Hospital in Shatin, design and construction of which was carried out simulataneously with the Kwun Tong project.
