Abstract
A general perception of the City of Hong Kong began to emerge its urban form from the British possession seems obviously undeniable. When people talk about the miraculous development of Hong Kong from a fishing village to an international metropolis, they often compare the before-and-after images of Central District. But historically and theoretically, an older urban reference can be located in Kowloon City area, which represents the original Chinese townscape in the great Hong Kong area prior to the British Adminstration.
