Abstract
Ideas, technology and most of all artistic freedom are aptly combined in this new museum celebrating Hong Kong arts. Commissioned by the Provisional Urban Council, the schematic design has been approved and work is expected to begin on site soon, with a completion date set for 2002. Unlike other civic structures in Hong Kong which have been plagued by delays through the laborious bureaucratic mechanics of committees, funding, and politics, the Hong Kong Museum of Contemporary Art appears to have been let off lightly according to Architectural Services Department's project architect Raymond Fung and Chief Curator of Hong Kong Museum of Art, Gerard Tsang.
