Abstract
(1) How does it feel to be the Director chosen to see the ArchSD through the handover?
(2) Will China have any influence over the activities of the ArchSD post-handover? Currently, the gouvernment there requires architects working in major cities to make references to traditional Chinese architecture in their designs. Do you envisage such requirements being introduced here?
(3) What new ideas are you keen to implement as Director? Do you have plans for structural or administrative reform?
(4) Do you feel that architecture in Hong Kong lacks the style and standards seen in other major cities around the world?
(5) The ArchSD produces many 'functional' buildings; what can/does it do to improve on aesthetics while meeting budgets?
(6) What, in your opinion, represents good design?
(7) What do you think of the Peak Tower, then?
(8) But isn't it a far cry from purely fucntional design?
(9) Do you see the boundaries between the ArchSD and private practice shifting?
(10) What is lined up for the Department after the change of sovereignty?
(11) ArchSD Projects to invite main building tenders up to November 98
