Abstract
In the first in a series of articles by Hongkong's major construction, property and design consultants, Gary John, associate director of Chesterton Petty Ltd., reviews the Hongkong commercial property market.
(1) Despite a significant adjustment in rental levels within Tsimshatsui, demand for high quality office space in decentralised but accessible locations continues to be strong.
(2) Ample opportunities still exist
(3) Although difficult to assess accurately, it is estimated that the drop in rental levels was between 10 per cent and 15 per cent in the first nine months of 1990 alone.
