Abstract
Following a recent spate of tragedies in Hong Kong, the subject of fire is much on the minds of Hong Kong's building service professionals. Two prominent members of the Hong Kong Institute of Engineer's (HKIE) Building Services Division talked frankly to Building Journal about the current status of fire prevention in Hong Kong. Kevin Cheng, Building Services Division Chairman, is also a director of ATAL Engineering. K P Cheung is a lecturer in the Department of Architecture at the University of Hong Kong.
