Since Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS) introduced the accreditation of construction product certification in 2003, product certification has become significant in the construction industry. This paper describes the principles, operations and the international references relating to the product certification and the product scheme. The benefits of applying a product scheme are also explained.
