Abstract
A native Hawaiian of Chinese descent, Byron Wong has made Hong Kong his home for the past decade and works as the Mandarin Oriental's Group Design Manager. He sits down with hinge to talk about his experience working with Michael Bedner in Los Angeles, the Mandarin's recent makeover by Lim Teo + Wilkes Designworks, his ways of dealing with the stress of working and living in Hong Kong, and his thoughts about the direction of hotel design.
