Abstract
The annual Young Architect Award is co-organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects and the Asian Cultural Council. The award, which was founded in 1990 and is sponsored by the Hsin Chong - K N Godfrey Yeh Education Fund, is limited to architects between the ages of 25 and 36 years. This year's competition brief focused on the man who led the 1911 revolution which led to the downfall of the Qing dynasty, ending 2000 years of imperial rule in China. Sun Yat-sen resided in Hong Kong from the age of 17, receiving his secondary and tertiary education between 1883 and 1892 - the latter at Hong Kong College of Medicine.
