Abstract
A local architect, who shall remain nameless, recently described the Hong Kong HousinG Society (HKHS) as the best client in town. When I asked him why, the reply was enlightening: "For three reasons: they respect the architect's design experience; they don't make endless changes - which can prove detrimental to the original design concept; and they pay well!". After talking with the HKHS director of projects, Ng Sai Ho, about the Society's methodology it is easy to see why this organisation is held in such esteem.
