Abstract
For many Hong Kongers, the words "Kennedy Town" are just a signboard on a double-decker tram rumbling by. But residents of this west-of-Western district have long petitioned the Government for redevelopment of their area, which is largely characterised by dilapidated buildings. Thanks to the Land Development Corporation (LDC) - who specialise in orchestrating Pygmalion-style urban manoeuvres - Kennedy Town residents will soon take advantage of their proximity to the wide-open sea vistas of the north shore.
