Abstract
While the rest of the developed world becomes more atuned to eradicating wasteful energy consumption, Hongkong continues unabashedly to burn coal fuel. Yet change may be in the offing. A contingency of local experts, concerned with the government's indifference, seized the initiative this month, organising an energy efficiency symposium to draw attention to the need for action.
