Abstract
In what ways does the law regulate issues of 'hertiage' and 'consercation;? This is a wide-ranging question which cannot be covered in full in this short article. For example, conservation includes, as just one of its aspects, liability for polluting our environment. Hong Kong's Enviornmental Protection Department is an energetic and enthusiastic defender of the environment, but a discussion of its legislation and its activities could justify its own journal. What this article will cover are the following limited but nonetheless interesting aspects of hertiage and conservation: (1) Antiquites (treasure trove) (2) Presentation of historic buildings (1) Antiquities (a) Treasure trove (b) The law of 'finders' (c) Standard form provison (2) Historic buildings
