Abstract
Reliable lighting is essential to any airport - a facility in operation round the clock, year on year. With the commissioning of Hong Kong's new international airport at Chek Lap Kok came the enormous need for comprehensive lighting solutions - to bathe buildings in light both inside and out. And more importantly, dependable airfield lighting was critical. Building Journal profiles several of the more prominent lighting components at the Isle of CLK.
(1) Airfield lighting
(2) Chek Lap Kok Air Traffic Control Complex and Tower
(3) Terminal Building
