Abstract
Shanghai takes a step forward for all of China. Amidst the clamouring din coming from construction sites across the Pudong district of Shanghai are the grounds for the new Shanghai Scienceland Museum. Not another multi-use complex but a sprawling structure on a 68,726 sq m site which will embrace the Civic Plaza. Located across from the Shanghai Pudong New Area Government Building and within the vicinity of the Pudong Central Park, the dynamic form of the museum punctuates the urban landscape with a message of technological advancement and scientific fervour.
