Abstract
As the claws of the chronic labour shortage dig deeper into the flesh of the Hong Kong construction industry emotional debate has flared between industry leaders, unionists, scholars and politicians about a solution that best suits the territory.
In this article, Francis wong, a lecturer in the Department of building and Surveying at the Hong Kong Polytechnic, examines the industry's plight and offers his thoughts on possible remedies for a problem that worsens by the day.
