Abstract
In 1988 the project for the new Macau-Taipa bridge was submitted to the Gabinete do Proto e da Ponte (Port and Bridge Authorities) of the government of Macau. The GPP then invited tenders from seven Portuguese designers.
Five groups accepted the invitation to tender (opening on 14 February 1989), encompassing a total of 21 mostly Portuguese companies. Finally, the consortium led by JL Cancio Martins and joined by Teixeira Duarte and Construcoes Tecnicas won the contract.
第一條澳氹大橋自74年建成通車以來, 澳門兩個離島氹仔和路環, 發展迅速, 舊大橋的交通, 早已飽和, 因此澳門政府在80年代後期, 已計劃興建另一條大橋, 紓緩舊大橋負荷。
