Abstract
While the world was yearning for feminism, Coco Chanel was churning out demure outfits for wannabes. While man was exploring space, couturiers were tailoring Barbarella vinyls to match the Trekkies' gear. And while the Green Movement was taking root, Ralph Lauren was creating ecologically sensitive apparel. In this respect, the haute couture of architecture is not unlike that of the fashion industry - underneath the surface of every mosaic lies a story of a Lacroix, behind every structure a Hanro and on every facade a Versace!
