Abstract
Jesters is Bangkok's answer to 'new wave'. Destined as the avant-garde talking point in chic Thai social circles, the bar/restaurant was fashioned to its river frontage spot in the newly opened Bangkok Peninsula which celebrated its grand opening on 22 May 1999. The space was originally conceived as a traditional Thai restaurant, but as the project neared completion, the hotel's food and beverage strategy adopted a somewhat different direction. It decided to reinvent the space as a 'techno-alternative' venue for eating, drinking, and music, following in the successful footsteps of Felix in the Hong Kong Peninsula.
