Abstract
Popularly known in Hong Kong as the days Bay nuclear plant and a highly-controversial project from its inception, the Guangdong Nuclear Power Station will, after commissioning of its first unit in August 1993, become a major contributor of electricity to the power grid in south China and Hong Kong.
廣東核電站(一般稱為大亞灣核電廠)，位於廣東省大亞灣畔的大坑，離香港市區五十公里。早在一九七九年，廣東省電力總公司與本港的中華電力有限公司，便合作?究興建核電站的可能性。在一九八五年，雙方便成立廣東核電合營有限公司。核電廠初步的造價預算為三十六億八千萬美元(約二百八十七億港元)，預期九三年八月投產。
