Abstract
Keeping an operational highway system healthy is just as crucial as getting the design and construction right in the first place, which is why the Highways Department periodically hires experts such as Halcrow Asia Partnership Ltd to gauge the extent of wear-and-tear on the roadways and provide the Department with a basis on which to formulate long-term maintenance strategies and devise specifics such as pavement design.
公路是香港經濟繁榮的命脈，所以必須維持其暢順和運作無間。
路政署最近委派了合樂顧問工程師為全港一半以上的道路進行結構評估(六百公里)和實地視察調查(七百六十五公里)，工程於九一年五月展開。
根據路政署首席工程師鄧傑表示，類似的道路測試計劃在八七年亦曾經進行。而是次的道路測試將包括所有的主要幹綫。
