Abstract
"Can we think of utopia today?" In his opening sentence, this question was raised by architect Arata Isozaki in this ongoing study project 'Kaishi/Haishi, the Mirage City, Another Utopia' which takes Zhuhai in southern China as its site. Utopian references have also been adopted by architect Kisho Kurokawa in his 'Eco-Media city' project in Shenzhen. Laurent Gutierrez assesses their relevance.
