Abstract
Reflecting back on the written history of art and design, one cannot help thinking that it is the one who writes who will be remembered. Whether it be Ruskin, Morris or Gropius, these writers amongst others have formed an intellectual matrix of thinking and constructs that have influenced the perception of many students of art and design and their views of world.
