Abstract
The population of the HKSAR is expected to hurdle the 8 million mark in 2011. And, according to the Government's Territorial Development Strategy Review last year, about 16 percent of those Hongkongers will call the Northwest New Territories their home. Along this residential growth corridor, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) is fast-tracking its West Rail Phase 1 towards provide a speedy and comfortable link to the rest of Hong Kong.
