Abstract
It's the kind of commission architects - even famous ones - fantasize about, and the kind that happens perhaps once in a career. To design an intimate museum in the heart of a city replete with some of the world's best. It may be smaller than a stadium, skyscraper or shopping mall, but many practitioners would gladly trade any of those for one of these. And no wonder; how often does an office get a shot at a decent budget, sensitive client, amazing site and fascinating exhibition material? Of course that also adds a bit of pressure not to blow it. Career-making commissions can also be career-hurting ones… in the wrong hands.
