Abstract
Understandably, the proposed introduction of personal liability for directors was mwt with vociferous objections from almost all corners of construction industry. However, after the intitial furore there is a sense that all is not doom and gloom. Unlike other environmental legislation, directors will not be exposed to a prison sentense and, in some instances, they are even afforded a broader defence than a person charged under the current Noise Control Ordinance.
