Abstract
In the following pages we bring for your visual perusal a photographic resume of the 1993/4 Hong Kong Institute of Architects Annual Awards. This is just a taste of things to come - our forthcoming special supplement will cover all 27 projects in greater depth accompanied by an extensive range of visuals of all the entries.
The winners this year - P&T's Entertainment Building (Silver Medal) and VTC Hong Kong Technical College (Certificate of Merit) - deserve special attention and recognition. However, to simply show the winners does not do justice to the profession as a whole. Only by showing all the entries will the range and depth of architectural achievement in Hong Kong be recognised. It is also hoped that by giving all the entries the public exposure that they too deserve, the public as well as fellow architects will realise the importance of events such as the HKIA Annual Awards, and with any luck, the fellow architects will be inspired to get their entries in for this year's awards.
With awards very much in the air this issue, the HKIA entries will be followed by part two of our profile of the AIA's 1994 Honor Awards for Architecture. An interesting chance to compare architectural activity on both sides of the Pacific Ocean!
