Abstract
Controversy about the National Theatre project in Beijing has continued for more than 40 years since the date the Government decided to build it, and choosing a practical plan in an international competition made the discussion more heated. China Building Design Institute Chief Architect and theatre owner committee chairman Zhou Qinglin present a summary of the debate surrounding the project.
