Abstract
In 1992, Gensler and Associates Architects' Los Angeles office organised a Design Ecology Committee. Their aim was to study environmentally sound products, installation methods and manufacturing processes with a view to implementing these criteria in Gansler projects at large.
By taking this significant 'green' step, Gensler set new precedents for their project work, and when asked to design the headquarters for Epson America in California, they were given the perfect opportunity to put their ideals into practice. So successful was the result that Gensler now considers the project as something of a flagship as far as Intelligent Design is concerned.
