Abstract
The HKIA Annual Awards is held every year to give recognition to outstanding architecture designed by members of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA). The Silver Medal is awarded to the architect of the building most deserving an award; archiects of other buildings deserving an award receive a Certificate of Merit. The President's Prize is awarded for smaller projects with less than HK$20 million in construction costs. For this year's awards a new award, the Design Award for HKIA Members' Work Outside Hong Kong, was established. The purpose of the new award is to foster appreciation of buildings designed by HKIA members, which are located beyond the borders of Hong Kong.
