Abstract
Throughout the western world there is a growing interest in what to do with leisure time. Government and private developers are both investing in extensive leisure facilities. In the Far East the same trend can be observed, although in this region the main instigator is the private developer.
Swimming clubs, sailing clubs, sports complexes and leisure-oriented residential estates are appearing throughout the region. Because of the unity required between outdoor and indoor facilities, there are new opportunities for the designing staff. Secondly there are new difficulties and materials to be considered.
