Lutron has a claim to fame; the company invented the world's first solid state dimmer switch back in 1961. The man behind it: Joel Spira. The concept of illumination control has somewhat 'moved on' since then, however the US-based lighting control design and manufacturing company has managed to stay at the leading edge of dimming technology.
