Abstract
The need for the addition of a new wing to the Hong Lok Yuen International School, in Tai Po, New Territories, Hong Kong, presented design issues requiring responses at once sensitive and sensible. That the final resolution transcends what might be termed reasonable expectations with a design response which is both innovative and visually arresting is a tribute to not only the architectural skills of Wong Chen Associates Ltd, the firm which undertook the commission, but also a statement of their commitment of their commitment to community values.
