Abstract
As the proprietors were just lugging the furniture into the space that was to become the Los Angeles branch showroom of the Dialogica collection, Ringo Starr popped his head round the door. The full, soft disc of the Bali ottoman dimpled by it's sprouting palm tree peeped out from beneath shrouds of packing. "I must have this," he cried, "I'm having a dinner party tonight, this will be just right!" and, the story goes, he bought it there and then."We didn't want people to feel they were in a museum, we want them to wander around and look and touch and sit on things."
