Abstract
Representing the most important collection on the Bauhaus today, the Bauhaus Archive and Museum Building lies on the Tiergarten side of the Landwehrkanal, opposite the Lutzowplatz in Berlin. The museum is one of the last architectural works undertaken by Walter Gropius and dedicated to the study and presentation of the history of the Bauhaus. From the origins of the Bauhaus in Weimar in 1919, the archive carries documentation of seminars and workshop creations from all areas of design including studies sketched in the classroom, domestic products, such as furniture and lighting, to architectural plans and models.
