Abstract
The Standard Chartered Bank building belongs to the group of landmark structure put up by banks in recent years. (One of the first such buildings was Norman Foster's Hong Kong Bank). For project architects P&T Architects and Engineers, the Standard Chartered redevelopment posed challenges such as how to make a small site stand out. The resulting structure may be tall and thin but it combines classicism with derivatives from religious buildings.
