Abstract
A sad milestone in the career of any design professional must be the demolition of one of his creations. The first time you experience it is probably the worst, or perhaps you never do. It is now happening to me. The Lok On Pai desalting plant is now being demolished and the site, so carefully prepared in 1972, is planned as a staging area for the new airport works. I will not mention the new airport again in this article!
