Abstract
There is a requirement within the building codes and fire precaution legislation to provide "places of safety" within buildings for people with mobility impairment to stay in temporary refuge areas during an evacuation until the fire has been eliminated or rescue arrives. Currently there is no requirement to provide means of egress facilities for this group of people to get out of the building with minimum assistance. Should we not need to address the question of how to get them out quickly in the event that the emergencies get out of control?
(1) Current situation
(2) Fire safety management team
(3) Fire lift
(4) Other options?
(5) In conclusion
