Abstract
One of the first Hong Kong tunnel projects in which a full-face hard rock Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) is being used, this 7.4-km tunnel forms part of Stage I of the Tolo Harbour Effluent Export Scheme (THEES).
政府為了減輕污染問題，實行了一連串的污水處理計劃。全長七點四公里，連接沙田和鑽石山的污水隧道，就是吐露港污水排放計劃第一期的部份工程，並且是首條採用隧道挖鑿機挖掘的政府隧道。 (港燈第二條電纜隧道則是首條使用隧用挖鑿機建築的私人隧道。)
